About Cheryl C.
I have been a Registered Dietitian since 1991 and received my Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist credential in 2018. My many years of practice include experience in acute care, skilled nursing, home health, hospice, eating disorders treatment, outpatient diabetes clinic, private practice, since 2018 as a Digital Health Coach for Omada Health diabetes prevention program and 2023 now as a Clinical Specialist for the hypertension and diabetes programs at Omada Health. Eating Disorders: I began working with eating disordered clients in 2006 and have worked at all levels of care including inpatient, residential, day treatment, intensive outpatient, individually and in groups, and through my private practice. My passion lies in helping clients reestablish a positive relationship with food, weight and body image through nutrition therapy and compassionate support. I ultimately guide my clients towards eating intuitively when appropriate for their recovery process. Nutrition Education: I've offered nutrition education for weight management, cardiovascular disease, and medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self management education for diabetes. My treatment philosophy for diabetes is to promote consistent carbohydrate intake and balanced eating patterns with lifestyle adjustments.Plant Based Nutrition: I have a personal interest in and passion for plant based, vegetarian and vegan nutrition. I've provided education and support for those wishing to move toward plant based eating and/or on to becoming vegetarian or vegan.
