Buyer Specialist

Expertise:Build and manage an appropriate portfolio of alumni, friends and organization prospects capable of making gifts of a minimum of $1,000 or more to the Organization. Responsibilities include developing and carrying out effective strategies, including a significant number of face-to-face visits per year and other strategic contacts for discovery, cultivation, solicitation/closing, and stewardship of major gift donors.In collaboration with team members, identify and confirm new potential donors, develop and carry out action plans for cultivating and soliciting donors, prospects, volunteers, and other third party Organizations that increase the potential success of the residents within the programming structure.Assist the Development Director and other colleagues in other duties as assigned to meet the challenges and opportunities of Open Door Mission’s development goals, including the annual Gala, Chevron Houston Marathon Participation, Toys for Kids, and Seasonal Events to ensure budgeted goals and the needs of the Residents are met.Responsible for cultivation of Donor database of $1,000 or higher contributions, identify and partner meaningful relationships with a caseload of 125-150 Constituents to ensure the philanthropic interests of the client are met. Prepare and present proposals that pertain to the interest of the contributing individual or organization. Recruit and support volunteer associates.Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and thoughtful planning in the use and care of all Open Door Mission resources, including staff and resident time; funds budgeted for travel, telephone, events or other activities; property such as vehicles, computers, cell phones, etc.Actively participate in all required and requested meetings, openly contributing ideas and suggestions to strengthen Open Door Mission’s development program.Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
