The Global Alliance for Partnerships on Media and Information Literacy (GAPMIL) Youth Committee was formed during the Global MIL Week 2016 Youth Agenda Forum in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as an integral part of the MIL Alliance. The committee aims to enable meaningful and structured youth participation in societies at global, regional, national and local levels. As the Asia-Pacific coordinator:• I managed news partnerships for the 2022 Global Media and Information Literacy Week which took place in Abuja, Nigeria. • Authored and edited a media and information literacy digital transformation report for UNESCO and its partner organisations at the Council of Europe’s 2022 University on Youth and Development in Mollina, Spain.• Served as Editorial Lead for UNESCO's youth newsroom at the 2019 Global Media and Information Literacy Conference. • Organised international workshops to develop the capacity of youth-led organisations in Asia and the Pacific.

Oxford University's Saïd Business School drives impact from within by preparing future business leaders who go on to transform businesses that transform the world. At the School, I am responsible for:• Accelerating our digital presence by generating, overseeing and approving the creation of engaging social content. In January 2024, I grew our Instagram engagement by 140%, reaching 2.7 million users.• Designing and leading the delivery of our cross-channel strategy, including scheduling platform-specific content optimised for times when our audiences are more active and engaged. In 30 days, I grew our LinkedIn Page Views by 130%. • Managing the roll out of team-wide training for adoption of new social media tools that improve social workflows across programmes, and research centres.• Researching new platforms and strategies to engage audiences. Eg, working with creators to generate organic brand mentions, creating an in-house influencer database, setting up guardrails for influencer collaboration etc.• Developing external relations with social media platforms to help amplify the reach of research, expertise and insights of Oxford Saïd academics. • Collaborating with and commissioning content from a range of stakeholders, including design, campaign leads, programme marketeers etc.

Twitter served the public conversation by helping users stay informed. My role was to facilitate this by creating outstanding content experiences through editorial and product interventions. On the editorial side:• I curated and amplified the best, most relevant conversations in real-time, monitored and wrote descriptions for thousands of Trends, sent out breaking news push alerts, contributed to human-in-the-loop projects and created the prototype for a bot to scale the discovery and distribution of fact-checks.• Developed and executed content strategy for sensitive and breaking news events, including elections, protests, prime ministerial resignations and legislations. A snippet of the impact: 85% of respondents to a late-2021 customer value survey said reading a curated description on a Trend helped them understand why something was Trending. 82% said these descriptions made Twitter Trends a better experience, whereas a majority said these editorial descriptions made them more likely to use Twitter.On the technical side:• I was the interface between my team and the rest of Twitter for Trends product understanding. I oversaw data production and analysis, made key contributions to product roadmaps and drove analytics strategy for my team to improve processes, provide product clarifications and data services to support 10+ markets.• Utilised BigQuery, Google Data Studio and Excel to query data from various datasets. I measured team, market and product performance against KPIs and recommended solutions for success. I collaborated with our Analytics team to identify editorial needs and create data dashboards. • Used data and user research to identify the root cause of problems, contributed to broader team-wide decision-making and implemented new cross functional processes.

Minority Rights Group International campaigns to defend the rights of minorities.My responsibilities included: • Providing direct support to the deputy director. • Researching and analysing freedom of speech-related legislative developments in Nigeria and Pakistan, as part of the Institute of Development Studies' (IDS) Coalition on Religious Equality and Inclusive Development (CREID).• Researching instances of discrimination against religious minorities. • Researching and proposing avenues for advocacy of minority rights in Europe.• Providing data representation support to enable the analysis of COVID-19 case patterns globally.

The Harvard College Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) was founded to create a forum of exchange for students and young professionals to discuss and learn about the most important economic, political, and social issues facing Asia.I was selected as one of the 300+ delegates from 80 countries to take part in the HPAIR conference in the Social Policy & Justice track. I was also amongst the 25 delegates that were selected as Scholars for the conference. The three-day conference included stimulating panel discussions, 1:1 interactions with experts and a case-style Impact Challenge.

I was invited to speak during UNESCO's 2019 Global Media and Information Literacy Week (Sept 24 - 31) Conference and Youth Agenda Forum. In my speech, I deconstructed the idea of media literacy and spoke about the need to integrate media literacy in high school curricula. I also moderated the first plenary session during UNESCO's 2019 #GlobalMILWeek Youth Agenda Forum. The panel included representatives from Jordon, Brazil, the US and the European Commission. The session was titled "MIL Citizens: What it means to the youth?" Additional responsibilities: • I was the editorial lead for UNESCO's Media and Information Literacy Youth Newsroom at the 2019 #GlobalMILWeek. • Developed a social media strategy for coverage of the global event, assigned editorial tasks to team members and edited and approved all publication-worthy content for the website, press releases and social media.• Led a team of six media professionals to produce insightful session reports and conduct interview with speakers and experts.

• I monitored, researched and reported stories on violation of media ethics and human rights, including sexual harassment in newsrooms.• I hosted a podcast, Reporters Without Orders, with a panel of reporters to analyse incidences of human rights violations and breach of media ethics.• I conducted interviews with experts, advocates and specialists to gather facts.• I worked with reporters, editors and graphic designers to edit, fact-check, rewrite/enhance copy.• I trained interns to compile time-bound news content.• I managed editorial partnerships and collaborations to ensure cross-publication of content.

Teach For India is a movement of leaders working towards educational equity in India. It is a two-year commitment to serve in low-income schools as full-time teachers. I taught a class of 28 fifth-grade students in a low-fee private school catering to an underserved community in East Delhi. Beyond my official responsibilities, I mobilised and strengthened the school-parent interaction leading to zero dropouts.Additional roles, projects and impact:• Fellow Advisor: I supported 40+ first-time educators through their first steps towards mastering the Teaching as Leadership Model. (Jun '15)• Reviewer, Fellow Selection Committee: I reviewed applications and identified potential classroom leaders. I conducted 20+ phone interviews.• Member, National Alumni Team: I reached out to several organisations to join Teach For India’s external career fair. I created a database of organisations for future collaborations.• Fellow, Firki: I was selected as a Firki Fellow. Firki is Teach For India’s online teacher training portal. • Fellow, LumenEd: I was selected for the prestigious LumenEd Fellowship. As a LumenEd Fellow, I integrated the use of technology in my daily lesson plans.• Consultant, School Management Committee: I liaised with parents and local authorities.• Founder, Aashayein: a teacher training program for the leadership develop of educators.• I built relationships with parents investing them in children's primary education. This ensured zero student dropouts.• Designed a social media campaign to raise funds. Secured books, projector and two year-long scholarships for students.
