I prepared an analysis of various inventory in their inventory system, which was built from scratch, and noticed that the inventory was not costed properly, therefore the resulting pricing was also not adequate to cover the production cost. I assisted the client by determining how to properly account for the cost-of-inputs when building various inventory items. I also provided additional business advisory services on how they could address chain-flow management challenges. Working with this SME client has resulted in significant improvement to their cash flow. Furthermore, the business owner gained an understanding of the importance of correct inventory costing, as well as contribution margin review to determine whether there is "room" to offer discounts to retail (or wholesale) customers. Financial results for the business saw improvement as well. All these efforts have resulted in the business owner controlling production costs and levels, properly assessing pricing levels and determining appropriate discount rates.
