Verizon, a Fortune 20 global leader, is the largest telecommunications company in the United States delivering innovative communications and technology solutions. Alltel Wireless was a Fortune 200 regional wireless carrier operating in 34 states across the nation’s largest wireless network prior to its acquisition by Verizon Wireless in 2009. Associate Director – Finance Revenue Accounting leader during the acquisition of Alltel Wireless by Verizon Wireless in a transaction valued at $28.1B. As part of transaction, the Department of Justice required the company to divest 91 overlap markets with annual revenues totaling $1.5B to a management trust pending sale. Ensured continuity of finance functions during transition to Verizon Wireless and the two buyers of the divested markets. Primary functions included financial reporting and analysis, conversion of financial and billing systems, preparation of carve-out financials for divested markets, support of divested markets under transition service agreements and shutdown of workforce and administrative offices.• Ensured compliance with anti-trust provisions set forth in DOJ approval order including contractual obligations and non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements. • Completed preparation of carve-out financials needed for sale of divested markets. Directed all aspects of project for functional areas taking 19 months, 18 internal resources, and 30+ consultants to complete.• Attained synergy goals set forth by Verizon Wireless leadership through strategic reductions in force over two-year transition period resulting in annual savings of approximately $1.2M.

Led team of 19 responsible for financial statement preparation and analysis for revenue and cost of services (roaming and access/interconnect) totaling $8B and $1.3B, respectively. Served as revenue accounting lead during Alltel’s acquisition by two private equity groups in late 2007 which included application of “fresh start” accounting.
