I owned my own business for over 20 years and just graduated with a second BS degree to match the experience I have in the field of accounting. My first degree was in elementary education and I taught math and science to fifth graders for almost 12 years total. This allowed me to gain quite a bit of management and organizational experience.Since leaving the teaching profession, I worked in all aspects of owning a jewelry store and the diamond business for almost 20 years. Eventually my focus was more on the operations side of the business which led me to my career in accounting. After selling my store, I arrived in Colorado and have been working in the accounting department at New Life Church. I have enjoyed gaining experience in various aspects of financial and managerial accounting for a non-profit organization.Between working full time and going to school full time, I enjoy going on hikes with my husband and 2 miniature dachshunds. I also have 2 grown children that are the loves of my life.
