The Family Practitioner role involves case holding Child in need cases, (section 17) and supporting social workers with other cases. I am responsible for conducting Child and Family Assessments, recommending a course of action and putting together a family plan to achieve this. I then monitor and support the family to improve their specific situation.

I am part of a multi-disciplinary team of three alongside a Police Officer and Housing officer from Whitefriars. The Team and I are commited to using restorative practices to tackle and resolve various forms of anti-social behaviour and crime across the city. We promote equality and anti-discrimination and always use a victim focused stance in any form of resolution. Whilst the team is still in its infancy we are already working with many key partners including Schools, Youth Offending, Victim Support, Looked after children, Citizens Advice, Neighbourhood Police Teams and a number of Housing Assocaitions. This role involves strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of working as part of a mulit-disciplinary team to provide excellent customer service. I was required not only to collect evidence via witness or victim statements but also to organise, manage and recommend support packages for victims and perpetrators of ASB in collaboration with a number of partner agencies.
