Ms. Hoffman (who is also the patent holder - three issued patents over two decades) has over 35 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant, an executive in capital markets, real estate, investment management, and as an entrepreneur. Her work history provided the diversity of experiences to conceive and build this unique business. Ms. Hoffman began her career in commercial banking in 1980. In 1982, she joined Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young) and became a Certified Public Accountant 1984. She managed financial joint ventures in large-scale land development projects throughout California for Home Capital Development Group (a subsidiary of Home Fed) and served as an asset manager in Frederick Ross Special Projects Group where she developed turnaround strategies for portfolios of troubled equity real estate from 1984 through 1988. In 1989, Ms. Hoffman joined Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, at the time, the largest manager of pension investment in commercial real estate in the United States. Ms. Hoffman founded Palladium Incorporated, a boutique investment banking firm, in 1995, and she developed the patented processes that are the foundation of Maxsar, LLC and its licensees, Brownfields Capital and EcoMax Holdings while continuing Palladium's business. Brownfields Capital was founded in 2001; and EcoMax Holdings was formed in 2010 after the issuance of one of two additional patents. EcoMax Holdings was formed to facilitate growth and for the expanded use of the platform. Ms. Hoffman has been a full member of Urban Land Institute. She has been a guest lecturer at Johns Hopkins University, Colorado State University, University of San Diego, University of Colorado, University of San Diego, and University of Denver, among others. Ms. Hoffman attended Colorado State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business, Real Estate and Finance, and completed the equivalent of a second undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado prior to sitting for the CPA exam. Founder And CeoEcomax Holdings Jun 2001 - PresentDenver, Co And Austin, TxEcoMax is a specialized holding company that controls the use of patents for a business that funds the total remediation and redevelopment of contaminated, underutilized, and/or idle plants, factories, military bases, rail yards, docks, etc. ("brownfield sites") in a single transaction. The process is definitively the best way to repurpose any previously used site. The company licenses the patented processes to prepare and fund a unique redevelopment plan that unlocks the value of these prime real estate assets for the buyers, sellers and investors simultaneously. This business profitably resolves the legacy environmental liabilities for owners of these sites for the first time; therefore, a private solution to this public problem creates a new market. EcoMax helps public and private owners realize hundreds of billions of dollars of property value that is currently trapped in its underutilized and environmentally contaminated state due to the risks and pricing issues that are resolved by EcoMax processes. EcoMax is uniquely solving these otherwise intractable issues and risks that have held these sites back from their successful reuse. Cheryl Hoffman is the Founder and patent holder.
