Cheryl Mathis, Ph.D. Email and Phone Number
I am an experienced and creative chemist passionate about bridging the gap between fundamental science and translational medicine. My core expertise is in thermodynamic and kinetic studies of both fully synthetic and biological systems. This interdisciplinary scientific training has equipped me with skills spanning synthesis & structure-activity relationships to mechanism elucidation & modeling. My current work in pediatric clinical pharmacology includes: (1) optimizing pharmacokinetic models for complex patient populations (oncology focus) and (2) developing precision biomarker strategies for monitoring drug interactions/ drug-induced liver injury. I am committed to projects that leverage my diverse experience in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, clinical trials, and clinical pharmacology to improve long-term outcomes for medically complex children.
