I consider myself a leader of learning; both professional learning and personal learning. We become better professionals when we improve personally. I strive to model this objective and encourage others to do the same. Doing something new and with an open-mindset offers professional and personal growth. Ask yourself, "When was the last time I did something new?"A recent 'something new' was to follow my lifelong professional goal of working overseas. This became a reality a few years ago in International settings. I was fortunate to be offered principal positions first in Saudi Arabia and Korea. Being fully immersed in very different cultures from my western base gave me an appreciation of world-wide educational similarities and broadened my views and practices as I learned from other cultures. My more recent 'something new' has been shepherding students and staff at a KG - 12 Independent school in BC Canada. We focus on spiritual, academic, physical, social and emotional well-being and growth. My personal 'something new' is learning how to drive and understand the systems in our new motorhome.Encourage one another and build each other up. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
