As senior executive for the national investigations program of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I’ve successfully managed many of the same challenges faced by private sector executives – reducing costs, optimizing operations, improving staff competencies, and strengthening the bottom line. My record of accomplishment demonstrates my success in building a strong, productive and committed workforce, effectively controlling the budget, and driving consistent and measurable process improvement in national operations. ►How is my experience different? I began my career with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE). I then worked for 11+ years with the U.S. Secret Service on criminal and undercover investigations including counterfeiting, securities and bank fraud and identify theft. I also served on the Vice Presidential Protective Division and the Major Events Division. ►Here is what I do best! ■ Investigations Leadership: Policy, procedural, and quality oversight for complex criminal, civil, administrative and technical regulatory investigations to identify, prevent, and deter counterfeit, fraud, and abuse in the nuclear industry and improve protection of critical U.S. infrastructure. ■ Operations Leadership: I consider myself to be a broad-based general management executive with experience across all core operating functions, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead change. ■ People Leadership: I am a participative leader; hands-on, and approachable. I am committed to staff development. At NRC/OI/OIG, I identified critical skills and training needs and initiated new programs to close skills gaps and support staff advancement.
