About Cheryl Powers

My photographic work was originally produced with film and is now mainly digital format photography. My darkroom work has given me a deep understanding of how to evaluate and create fine art prints. My interest is mainly with subjects in the natural word and interpreting their forms. I am presently the Photo competition and Silent Auction Chair for the SNAP Contemporary Photography Auction from 2013 . I have also served on the several jury panels, including the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition 2017, the OLTA OurLand@150 Youth Photography Competition, and several camera clubs.I received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and have studied photography at George Brown College in Toronto.My freelance work includes, book covers, author’s portraits, music events, and children’s books.
