My goal is to partner with local districts to recruit and work with district leaders to develop their interest and support for computer science education. I work with district leaders to identify and recruit teachers to participate in Code.org K-12 professional learning programs. By working with district leaders we can support and ensure that teachers who participate in professional learning programs will have district and school level support to implement the courses they are trained on. The Alaska professional development team for delivering Code.org workshops has grown to 8 Alaskan Code.org trained educators to prepare and support our peers in the classroom. We are striving for equitble acess to computer science for all students in large and small schools.

I have become a proud Ambassador to support BookCreator, a great app or online program that creates award winning student created books . Those who know Book Creator inside and out, use it in their classrooms, teach it in their conferences, shout about it online. Over 400 Ambassadors around the world help shape the future of Book Creator, giving feedback on early beta releases and other ideas. Book Creator belongs to you, the educators. I am excited to have reached this level as it allows me to share my passion for using this app for Science, math, ELL literacy and to create artifacts of new learning and knowledge. Book creator now works with iPads, MacBooks and chrome books. There is a collaborative version online. Can't help but shout about this great app.

This was an exciting opportunity to work with Elders in Fort Yukon to ;Summery Academy 1- create online materials with the help of teachers, students and local elders that would be available to student of Fort Yukon during the school year for learning their Gwichin language.Summer Academy 2 -We digitized children's books allowing Elders to do voice over in "Gwitchin" to allow student to hear and learn their native language using familiar illustrated books.

I was responsible for assessing staff technology integration needs and designing professional development to meet those needs. I provided mini workshops, credited college courses, just in time coaching and mentoring in classrooms. I worked collaboratively with Apple Professional Development teams to train teachers to infuse technology into daily best teaching practices that engage students in higher order thinking. Through careful planning, CCSD has deployed and expanded the 1;1 laptop program to 2-12th grades and we continue to create model 21st classrooms with multiple digital tools and resources. I guided/collaborated with the technology committee to create a solid tech plan that can implemented in a timely manner. I was responsible to write and implement grants to support a vibrant technology program.We added iPad carts to each building. These devices offer a unique set of mobile opportunities for exploration with different kinds of apps and books. These devices are well suited to STEM activities such drivers for our robots, face time with professionals, and gather data in a very wet environment . The waterproof cases all students to explore ocean life up close and even underwater.

I worked with 1-12th grades over this period of time in a rural school setting. This included Math, Art and Technology in the Secondary. I was selected to attend the first ARCTIC immersion program to become an ambassador to train teachers for technology integration in the classroom. I wore many hats, I had regular classrooms as well as I was responsible for working with teachers and supporting them by modeling how to manage an environment that engages students while using technology to meet Alaska Standards.
