As Associate Provost, I will provide strategic leadership in the design, development, implementation, assessment and direction of career and professional development-related programs and services for the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. • Responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction for professional programs and services in the College of Engineering; serving on the Dean’s leadership team and representing the College to internal and external stakeholders in all areas related to student professional development and corporate engagement. Use both quantitative and qualitative metrics to assess efficacy of programs and guide direction for new initiatives.• Develop and foster corporate relationships that are integrated and comprehensive in their approach in order to expand the level of engagement with the College of Engineering, including student hiring, faculty research, collaborative grant proposals, and corporate philanthropy.• Design and oversee the implementation of an experiential learning program that provides a range of opportunities for both undergraduates and graduate students including internships, co-ops, research, design projects, community service learning, and extra-curricular projects• Developed and continue to teach a course entitled Bridging Engineering Theory to Practice in the Community. Won a grant to develop this four-credit course as part of the Faculty Fellows Program through the UMass Civic Engagement and Service Learning department. Built relationships with many town officials and other non-profit groups to provide hands-on projects to students while also learning about the social constructs that surround engineering projects. • Served for two years as the advisor for Engineers Without Borders, a student society that travels twice a year to Africa (Kenya and Ghana) to provide safe drinking water to the most needy communities. Met weekly with leadership board and guided in programming, fund-raising, conference participation and service trips.

•Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive career program for the College of Engineering consisting of 2000 undergraduates, and 600 graduate students.•Develop employer and alumni relations to create job and internship opportunities through career fairs, information sessions, technical talks, industry panels, facility tours, networking events and job postings.•Design and implement a career development plan for students from first year through senior year including resume and cover letter writing, interview skills, job-hunting strategies, networking, and career decision-making, through one-on-one counseling, workshops and online tools.•Manage the day-to-day activities of the Career Center including hiring, training and supervising of professional and student staff, managing budget, and preparing reports.
