ICARE WORKFORCE SOLUTIONSAfter joining the Board of Director’s for “NET Institute: Center for Addiction & Recovery Education” (NET Institute) in 2004, I became an employee in 2010 as the Director of Operations, actively creating the Division “International Association of Professional Recovery Coaches” (IAPRC) and ICARE with Dr. Jean LaCour. In 2019, I was promoted to Executive Director.~ PROBLEM ~NET Institute had been bringing together people and processes to overcome society’s challenges for 25+ years, when it was realized that there was a crying need for businesses to address substance misuse and addiction concerns with their employees. I immediately began researching solution possibilities.~ SOLUTION ~In 2020, I was instrumental in the creation of “The International Center for Addiction and Recovery Education” (ICARE) to coalesce the efforts of NET Institute and IAPRC and to expand services to Corporations, Businesses, and Companies through the B2B Division, “ICARE Workforce Solutions.”~ OUTCOMES ~Seen as a solution that fills a gap within the business sector, many National & International Entities (such as National Wellness Institute, Preventia, Global Health Metrics, and others) have been attracted to work with me as Strategic Partners to actively collaborate on the development of Strategic Sobriety Workforce Solutions’ Products, Programs, & Services, as well as Public Awareness of the issues.With the goal of helping companies to prevent loss associated with substance misuse and addiction and in an effort to improve the lives of employees, their families, and communities, ICARE and their Strategic Partners have developed Business Bundles. - Addiction Health Risk Assessments- Access to Certified Professional Recovery Coaches- Access to Certified Facilitators in Addiction Awareness- Training & Certification Programs to Credential Internal Resource SpecialistsVisit our website at: https://icare-aware.org/

GREATER ORLANDO SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGMENTWhile working for “NET Institute: Center for Addiction & Recovery Education” (NET Institute), I joined the Greater Orlando Society for Human Resource Management (GOSHRM). I became certified as a “Senior Professional in Human Resources” (SPHR) and a “Senior Certified Professional” (SHRM-SCP).I served in various capacities on the board until 2021, when I became “President” of GOSHRM.~ PROBLEM ~Since 1957, GOSHRM has served HR & Related Professionals in the local Business Community.GOSHRM members, workplaces, communities, and others worldwide, have suffered tremendously because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Given the magnitude of the unprecedented historical events facing the modern workforce and society, GOSHRM’s members and the businesses they support are facing unique challenges, such as job and economic loss, lack of access to professional development & services, health and emotional trauma, etc.~ SOLUTION ~GOSHRM’s mission is to elevate people and workplaces through education, connections, and service. Under my leadership, GOSHRM is collaborating with local, state, and national partners to connect people and companies with Resources, Training, Job Openings, and Personal and Professional Development Services… to address the current situation as well as to prepare for the future.~ OUTCOMES ~Some of GOSHRM’s partners include, Career Source Central Florida, Project Opioid, Lift Orlando, Goodwill Industries, Jobs Partnership, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), HR Florida State Council, SHRM National, and others.Under my leadership, GOSHRM was awarded the coveted Pinnacle Award by SHRM National, and the Chapter Excellence Award from HR Florida for participating in the development of an Addiction Awareness Train-the-Trainer program. INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL MANAGERSWhile working for AT&T in 2000, I became certified by the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM). In 2003, I was asked to join the ICPM Board of Regents. After joining, I became Secretary, Vice Chair, and eventually, Chairman of the Board for 2 years, resigning in 2012. Due to my service, I was extended honorary lifetime membership and certification.~ PROBLEM ~ICPM was founded by two trade associations focused on developing managers and leaders, the National Management Association (NMA) and the International Management Council (IMC).It was created to provide a formal program of management training to first-line supervisors and to enhance recognition of management as a profession. Initially – before my participation - ICPM served the United States only. Then, it was realized that there was an international need for the education & certification as well.Simultaneously, it was discovered that there was a gap in leadership talent in the U.S. as managers retired and the next generation was not prepared to replace them..~ SOLUTION ~As Chairman of the Board, I was integral in the organization’s Strategic Planning. In recognition of the issue in the U.S. and in partnership with NMA, ICPM identified leadership competencies and expanded their certification programs to address them.Concurrently, ICPM reached out internationally and expanded to a worldwide market.~ OUTCOMES ~During my tenure, a new management credential “Certified Supervisor” was created for entry level managers to succeed in their first management role.Also, significant expansion was made into the Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and North African markets, which DOUBLED the revenue of the Institute of Certified Professional Managers.To date over 15,000 have been certified in over 30 countries worldwide.

Provide high impact learning events, training and organizational development consulting services to corporations, small businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Facilitated courses for adults pursuing undergraduate and graduate level degrees using traditional and contemporary blended learning instructional techniques for adult learners. Courses included the following: Undergraduate: Fundamentals of Management, Human Resources Management, Employment Law, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources: Principles and Practice in Health Care; Graduate: Human Capital Development.

Facilitate undergraduate and graduate level online and on-ground courses in HR, T&D, Management and related topics.

As a volunteer Director, I was responsible for the coordination of efforts directed at increasing diversity, in addition to providing education, and promoting awareness among the GOSHRM membership.

Responsible for identifying the training and organizational development needs of Florida’s Blood Centers. This included the development of organizational development and training systems in support of business strategies, as well as the coordination and oversight of training delivery. Directed and managed the activities of training managers, coordinators, specialists and (in-directly) field-trainers, who in turn conduct and supervise training and development programs for approximately 1,000 employees working in 20+ counties in Florida.

As a strategic business partner, worked with the Senior Leadership Team and other directors to develop human resources goals, processes, and measurement systems that supported Agency goals and objectives. Ensured that personnel policies and procedures were applied consistently throughout the Agency. Monitored compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations. Oversaw development and implementation of agency-wide training plans. Coordinated the Agency Safety Program and Quality Improvement Process.

Served an instrumental role in the start-up and expansion of this organization through supervision, leadership, and planning. Directed organizational development and training functions provided for the benefit of over 1,500 employees in five states. Designed and implemented a workplace intervention program that increased employee satisfaction survey scores by 35% in one year.
