I am a strategic planning consultant, sustainability expert and writer who has worked with national and world leaders in government, think tanks and business. I have substantive experience in community sustainability, environmental justice, and equitable development. I specialize in catalyzing and facilitating interdisciplinary groups to forge innovative policy, research, and community initiatives. As a researcher and writer, I have deep experience transforming complex technical and regulatory information into meaningful and engaging content for lay and expert audiences.I practice a systems thinking approach in my professional life with degrees in chemical engineering and international development as well as several years studying human behavior, creativity, storytelling and the visual arts. Culture is an important bridge to sustainability. Throughout my working life, I've used stories to connect people to wider environmental and economic issues. At the Aspen Institute, I helped design forums and multi-stakeholder dialogues on environmental challenges and possibilities. I have curated and wrote articles for a series on environmental equity for a web media company focused on corporate social responsibility. I've also written and edited numerous articles and reports, including recommendations to the White House. With a love of film and as a creative writer, I've had three scripts selected by Women in Film & Video (DC) for their “Spotlight on Screenwriters” catalogue showcasing the best scripts in the Washington metro area. I'm currently helping organizations create collaborative networks for greater social impact.
