Kiddar Capital is a global alternative asset management firm based in Falls Church, Virginia, with offices in London and Houston, TX. Launched in 2007 by real estate and construction veteran Todd Hitt, the firm manages a wide variety of investments including real estate, traditional private equity, venture, and credit. I ran our ventures group, sourcing/leading deals and performing diligence, portfolio strategy, existing investment support, and R&D. Deals I’ve led at Kiddar include Aquicore, 1776, the 1776 seed fund, NextGen VP Fund, Kanler, CargoSense, BuildingConnected, EverCharge, UpsideDoor, Rhumbix, Greensight Agronomics, and Mobalytics.

SocialSamba elevated interactive storytelling and audience engagement. We powered millions of automated conversations on social networks through a distributed platform which combined scripted and generated language, natural language processing, and an intelligent, multimodal outreach engine. ROLE:- Responsible for software releases, runway planning, partner integrations, and product reliability, quality, and maintainability.- Redirected the platform from a monolithic Facebook integration to a multimodal system capable of deployment across several additional distribution platforms with a technical emphasis on horizontal scalability, low DevOps overhead, and powerful configurability for ease of delivering client projects.- Served as architect and led a development team that worked on a multi-tier platform, including a Ruby-based storytelling engine and web service layer on Heroku/Amazon AWS, a language analysis engine in Java, and several single-page JavaScript webapps.- Project lead and a major line of coordination and support for client productions and services.- Ran our cornerstone single-blind, randomized case study on the effect of SocialSamba interaction on Twitter TV fans.- Guided product development through user behavior data. RedBrick Health is a Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers funded healthcare startup that provides large, self-insured employers with ways to guide and reward their employees for taking action to improve their health.ROLE:- Led a team of engineers through a full remodel of the consumer-facing product. - Laid new project architecture, creating and enforcing team use of web design and coding standards, ensuring no degradation of requirements and reducing pain-points of the original product.- Managed code releases via git.- Mentored junior engineers, providing them with model overviews, method stubbing, and code reviews.- Principal developer for a highly-configurable incentives engine that rewards users for taking action to improve their health, written to scale on top of a message-oriented ActiveMQ platform.- Designed and created internal tools for Tier II support and integrations to offload work from the ETL team.ACHIEVEMENTS:- Recreated a hybrid J2EE/Grails application as a pure Grails application with an entirely redesigned user experience, suite of new features, and internationalization.- Led a team through an aggressive refactoring of a proprietary weight loss competition product into a modular, configurable offering, deployable as a standalone application and launched in January 2011 to the entire state of Minnesota as part of the “Biggest Loser Minnesota” challenge.
