Voluntary post as Chairman & trustee with responsibility for overseeing the running of small local charity including adopting efficient procedures, ensuring access to adequate funding, promotion, effective safeguarding process, recruitment of trustees, and annual reporting to the Charity Commission. Supervision and support to a small team of part time employees. Liaison with other trustees including Hon Treasurer, Hon Secretary, and Marketing Trustee. Previously Vice- Chairman for two years, also prior to this Hon Secretary of this charity since 1986.

An ambassadorial/networking role, plus mentor, and support with initiating and progressing any new business enquiries from primarily SME and Corporate Plc's, having specific additional expertise in International, Life Science & Technology risks. Contributing as required to the senior Executive team within the office, alongside client service support. Additionally open to reviewing opportunities, and progressing these for appropriate acquisitions either locally, or sector specific in life science or technology specialisms.

Acted as Client Service Director for portfolio of Corporate clients, both publically and privately owned, UK and international companies, with strong bias to the technology and life science sectors. Additionally as Managing Director has taken responsibility for the strategy and implementation for the Coventry office from both local and from a group perspective, including re-organising after initial appointment to two departments, Enterprise and Corporate, so as to recognise the changing needs of clients, and to ensure delivery of a high quality efficient service to all customers of the business. Review of staffing roles, and responsibilities, and to re-align these to current business needs. Moved the office to strong financial footing, with good contribution to group profitability. Held posts on the Oval UK Corporate Service Group, and Arthur J Gallagher Regional Executive team. At local level I was responsible for P & L delivery for the office as a whole, including preparation and monitoring of budgets. Retained responsibility as direct line manager for Corporate Service team, as well as line manager for the Coventry office management team, also dealing with high level HR matters, Health & Safety etc. Encouraged and promoted development of Apprentice training programme for future staff development, and other staff to complete their professional training. Implemented succession planning within the office, and now supporting new managing director through transition in this role from 2015.

Following sale of Halkett Associates was retained as a Divisional Director, with responsibility for Client Service of own portfolio of UK & International Publically owned and privately held corporate clients, and a member of the new senior management team. Director with responsibility for leading the Client Service Account Executives within the Coventry office, plus also a member of the Oval UK Service Group, set up to drive good and consistent practice through the business, so as to benefit our clients.

Founding equity owning Director of Halkett Associates, with responsibility for Client Service and New Corporate Business. Additionally set up the initial accounting procedures and insurance and bank reconciliation, before training the Company Secretary to take this role on. Lead the Client Service team, including recruitment, regular reviews, technical support and development. Contributed to budget and day to day management, plus strategy for development of the business. Liaison with insurers as needed.
