Hi, I’m Cheryl. The Founder & CEO of Dragon Academy - I am half Chinese, half American, born in Taiwan and grew up in Hong Kong. Chinese was my first language. Throughout my life, I have struggled with the difficulty of continuing to learn Chinese while also seeing again and again how speaking and understanding the language and culture has been a massive superpower. (This superpower came in the form of nailing my Harvard interview - in Chinese, to majoring in East Asian Studies at Harvard, to negotiating manufacturing contracts in China, to being able to connect with some of the 1.6Bn Chinese native speakers.)I created Dragon Academy because I want to share my superpower with you.Dragon Academy is the story of nine teens from across the world. Together, they are the last descendants of the Dragon Keepers, entrusted with the power of the Chinese language and culture to unite and bring harmony to the world.
