School on Wheels of Massachusetts is one of three programs in the United States. This unique program provides customized, one-on-one educational support services and academic resources for children impacted by homelessness. In 2004 School on Wheels worked with 20 students at 2 program sites and the yearly budget was $20,000. In 2013 School on Wheels worked with 250 children at 12 program sites and the yearly budget was $445,000. Most of the funding comes from private resources: corporate, foundations and individuals.
