Cooking Pioneers aims to get children cooking. Specifically Primary school children and children who are going off to university.

Recognising that many organisations have limited budgets, I set up CLR Communications to offer a cost-effective, tailor-made PR solution - offering either in-house PR resource or as a consultant working alongside and supporting your existing team.Some of my clients include The Stroke Association, Beating Bowel Cancer, a Children's Day Nursery, Animal welfare charity, a children's Hospice and an Adult Hospice.

Achievements: •Planning and implementation of international PR campaign for WSPA’s anti-whaling work at the International Whaling Commission. Working with 11 offices around the world, we achieved over 100 pieces of press coverage including articles in the challenging target country of Japan•Managed the relationship with a production company throughout planning and filming of an Animal Planet series on WSPA’s Romanian Bear Sanctuary. The 8-part series has been broadcast and repeated on the Animal Planet channel across the UK, Middle East and Europe•Planned and managed the launch of a kit to detect illegal use and import of bear bile during a CITES conference in the Netherlands, achieving coverage across 13 countries. Responsibilities:•Planning and coordinating international media campaigns which support WSPA’s work on bears in captivity, bullfighting, whaling, stray animals and animals in disasters•Coordinating annual planning process with teams across 9 regional offices•Working towards the organisation’s corporate strategy and on the development of the international communications strategy•Supporting regional offices, in particular providing 1:1 planning and support to Asia-Pacific team •Devising communications-led campaigns around Compassionate Travelling and World Rabies Day to raise brand awareness and allow the fundraising teams to make contact with new audiences•Managing a team to produce communications guidelines for key programme areas•Line managing the Communications Project Manager and Internal Communications consultant

Achievements: •Researched, planned and implemented the charity’s 10th anniversary Champion Carers Competition. This included event management of an awards show with The Princess Royal and arranging the logistics for twelve carers and their families to attend from across the country. •Managed the journalist relationship for the Daily Telegraph Christmas appeal. Achieved 15 pieces of coverage (full features) and the appeal raised over £300k for The Trust•Planned and implemented a full PR campaign, including a media training programme, for the launch of The Trust’s new young carers website. The campaign achieved 28 million opportunities to see, including national TV and radio and local media•As celebrity coordinator I worked extensively with Pam Ferris, organising a 12-hour dash visiting 9 carers’ centres across England. Travelling in a 4-seater plane we achieved national and local media coverage and together presented findings from carers to parliament. Responsibilities: •Planning and implementing a PR programme to support the Fundraising team and contributing to the overall communications strategy•Planning and project managing The Trust’s annual review and other corporate publications•Line managing the online services team, freelance senior media officer and volunteers •Managing the recruitment and selection of freelancers to work across the regions•Communicating with the Carers’ Centre network and other stakeholders on positive PR campaigns and crisis management •Managing PR around events involving HRH The Princess Royal and celebrity supporters
