Profile bio

About Cheryl Stapleton

You might look at my profile and think "What the heck?" Yes, I've had a 'portfolio career' (i.e. a total mix-up!) But there is a thread; a drive that gets me out of bed each day. It's my belief in the power we all have within us to discover who we are and who we can become. Theatre, specifically masked theatre, is at the heart of this, with the timeless ability to transcend, transform, and transport us. Masks allow us to explore parts of ourselves we don’t normally show, inviting us to shed our everyday identities and step into new perspectives, free from self-consciousness. Through Learning Through Theatre, I’ve had the joy of creating spaces where people can experience this journey. Whether it’s a student stepping into a character for the first time, an audience being transported by stage magic or a professional discovering new ways to communicate and unlock their true self, my work is about enabling people to make these powerful transformations. We all wear masks, everyday, but rarely do we acknowledge them - or have full control of them. I want to help people understand themselves and others; to reach a deeper level of self-reflection, self-expression and connection; to unlock new or hidden sides of themselves; to enable them to build confidence in ways that words alone often can’t.Along the way, I’ve worked in neurotechnology, television, and consulting, alongside theatre and education, gaining unique insights into what really drives people and what people need, as well as the barriers and obstacles they face. My time working at Aon and at Truthsayers gave me a deep appreciation of what people need to feel engaged, included, and valued, particularly in relation to mental health, inclusion and organisational culture. The Things That Drive and Excite Me:* The potential of theatre to enable people confront their cognitive dissonance and to inspire transformation;* Helping people connect authentically, beyond the surface;* Unlocking insights into human behaviour and the exciting potential of the next generation of Neurotech analytics in enabling this deeper than ever before;* Supporting engagement, wellbeing, and cultural alignment in organisations.Theatre and Education are at the heart of it for me, and in the past few years I have realised how closely linked my work in theatre is to the corporate world - now more than ever, we need to understand each other on a human level. In both spaces, true transformation happens when we can communicate openly, step into each other’s shoes, and build a culture of genuine connection.

Strategic Consultant - Global Neurotech Analytics

Aon

Stroud, England, United Kingdom

I worked with global leaders to address the workforce challenges they face by enabling them to gain deep insights into the emotions that drive their employees, leveraging the award winning people analytics platform, Neurotech. This ground breaking platform is the first of its kind, combining neuroscience with technology to revolutionise how businesses measure engagement, satisfaction, resilience, wellbeing, inclusivity, equity, conduct risk and so much more. This analytics tool outstrips other surveys by delivering a metric measure of people's deep-seated emotions; it captures intuitive, automatic reactions at a nonconscious level, before moderation and conscious bias creep in, meaning that we can deliver an authentic picture of an organisation, its people and its culture. My role involved strategic planning with global clients to develop Neurotech assessments to will allow them to connect with their people at a human level - be they employees, members, customers, leaders or executive board. I worked closely with clients to provide end-to-end consultancy, managing project development, implementation, communications, data analysis, reporting, advisory and strategic action planning. I designed, scripted and created promotional content in multiple formats; developed and managed a client-facing repository of resources to streamline communications; developed processes and resources to project manage effectively and swiftly; led interdepartmental, global collaboration on projects to deliver the best outcomes for clients. I drove ongoing platform innovation to meet increasingly challenging client needs, and developed and led internal and external training modules on Neurotech data analytics.
