I am a talented career counselor with extensive experience engaging adult and traditional students and job seekers to discover their passions and pursue meaningful career opportunities. I take a solution-oriented approach and create a safe space for exploration of interests, skills, values and challenges to academic and career pursuits. Through the use of formal and informal assessments and labor market information, I work collaboratively with students to develop action plans for occupational exploration, academic achievement, and career development. I earned my M.Ed. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State University and my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mount Mercy University. In 2020, I completed my Career Facilitator Certification through NCDA. I have over 20 years’ experience in Higher Education including teaching face-to-face career development courses, planning and managing programs and events, employer outreach and individualized coaching.
