At the beginning of 2022 I decided to apply for the position of Adult Volunteer Leasing Co-Ordinator for the Kurilpa Scout Den in Yeronga. What an interesting decision that has turned out to be dealing with small community organisations using the venue for their regular events. I don't have a lot to do with the actual Scout activities because as a Committee we exist to manage the business side of keeping the accommodation maintained and producing the income to ensure all of the requisite services are up to date ie fire and safety, cleaning, fund-raising etc. I also now hold the position of Chairman of the Committee and look forward to being involved for many years to come. It's a great experience for kids and my associates attached both to the Committee and the Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Rovers and Venturers exhibit such passion and commitment to providing the necessary support. They are wonderful people.
