LAU LAMbDA Superconductors Huntsville is a 100% owned subsidiary of LAU Superconductors (LAUSuperconductors.com). LAU Superconductors thought of a breakthrough in High Temperature Superconductors, and formed a company to research and develop its application. This led to a series of more innovations which should lead to a) the end of strategic nuclear missiles and b) Hypersonic Glide Vehicles comparable to China's among other applications. LAU LAMbDA Superconductors Huntsville focuses on Space and Defense applications of LAU Superconductors' innovations.

Technical authority on all work proposed and performed by Sigmatech, Inc. throughout the company’s portfolio. Worked with government and industry representatives in the Huntsville and Colorado Springs regions to build strong customer relationships, research and identify new business opportunities, seek new business tools and methods, and collaborate with other executives and SVPs to formulate business strategies.Technical Advisor to the Director for Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) Cross-Functional Team (CFT) within the US Army’s Futures Command. Directly advised and supported the Senior Executive Service (SES) level director on technical, programmatic, and strategic matters within his purview. This includes creating the first draft of the Integrated Army Master Experimentation Plan (IAMEP), that documents technologies and on-ramps into experimentation demonstrations, such as Project Convergence, through a distributed system level hardware-in-the-loop capability. This significant change in the Army’s approach to experimentation is becoming the standard to demonstrate advanced technologies and determine their prioritization.

Technical Advisor to the Director of Space and Missile Center within the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command Technical Center (SMD/TC). Directly advise and support the Senior Executive Service (SES) level director on all matters associated with programmatic and technical work within his purview. This includes creating all Command Level briefings and direct input into Strategic Vision for the US Army in its use of Space. Established programmatic baselines for Space Technology Programs that graduated into larger Demonstration Programs, prior to becoming full-up acquisitions programs. Advise the Director on all organizational matters, pertaining to structure and personnel requirements to fulfill the mission within the budgetary constraints levied upon the office.

Technical Advisor to the MDA Director and the Single Technical Authority. Responsible for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Technical Baseline. Provided technical oversight to 20+ fielded upgrades to the BMDS. Lead the assessment and rationale for the Technical Capability Declaration (TCD) for the European Phased Adaptive Approach (EPAA) Phase 2 in 2015 to allow fielding in 2016. This assessment was based on all test data acquired through 2015, primarily M&S and system level HWIL data.

Nationally recognized ballistic missile expert, including all aspects of ballistic missiles, such as guidance and control, propulsion, instrumentation, telemetry, launch operations, safety, and mission assurance. Accountable for over $400M annual budget and 200 missile and test professionals. Responsible for over 150 Ballistic Missile Targets over 10 years with an over 99% success rate. Renowned expert within the Intelligence Community on missile threats, characteristics and capabilities as they relate to missile performance and Missile Defense, including countermeasures, and adversary hypersonic capabilities.Developed Air Launched Targets, allowing MDA to test all aspects of the BMDS against Short, Medium, and Intermediate Range Threat Representative Targets from any azimuth at any Test Range. This, along with the reuse of excess Minuteman, TRIDENT, and Pershing hardware, allowed for a cost-effective program that saved the government over $500M in test and target development costs. Within the Air Launched Target Program, successfully created a high-altitude airborne launch control system (used within the C-17 cargo “drop” aircraft), and airborne safety systems used within the safety aircraft flying along with the target drop aircraft.

Nationally recognized T&E expert, accountable for an annual budget of over $1.5B and managing 1000+ people.First Flight Tests of integrated Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) SystemCompleted the first phase of Ground-based Midcourse Defense system flight testing. All successful tests, culminating in a full operational system test using all components within the GMD system.

As Deputy Program Director for the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) System, responsible and accountable for an annual budget of over $3.5B, managing over 2000 people within the program office. Responsible for the development and fielding of the GMD system. During my tenor, responsible for safe and successful conduct of the initial flight tests for the fully integrated GMD system in its operational configuration with a 100% success rate. Brought the GMD system on-line for the protection of the United States during North Korea’s original Long Range (ICBM class) missile testing. Successfully implemented significant change into the GMD Organization by segmenting the GMD components into their separate parts (Sensors, Fire Control, Interceptors) to enable all Ballistic Missile Defense systems to leverage GMD sensor capability, and allow GMD to receive information from non-GMD components, drastically enhancing the performance of both the GMD system and the other BMD systems. This was achieved with direct focus on the GMD leadership to rapidly make decisions on verifiable data by instituting a structured board process within the GMD Program. These “Six Sigma” ideals were instrumental in restructuring MDA into its current management structure and enhancing the performance of all MDA systems.

(Ground Test, Flight Test, Targets)As an Engineer and eventual Director for MDA Test Resources, managed all test resources within the infrastructure of MDA, with an annual budget of ~$60M. Responsible for the care, maintenance, upgrades, and safe operations of all MDA Ground Test Facilities, Test Ranges, Range Instrumentation, and Mobile (Airborne) Instrumentation.

Nationally recognized expert in Hypersonics, Hypersonic Facilities and Hypersonic Testing. Worked on the joint DoD/NASA National Facilities Study focused on the consolidation of test assets for the aerospace community. At NSWC, responsible for the safe operation of Hypervelocity Windtunnel Number 9. This one-of-a-kind National Asset tests all thermal/aerodynamic aspects of DoD and NASA Hypersonic/Hypervelocity vehicles in a controlled realistic environment (Mach 7-18). Responsibilities included engineering design, controls and instrumentation, materials development, and high-pressure technology (to 75,000psi). Brokered the smooth transition of Tunnel 9 from the US Navy (NSWC) to the US Air Force (AEDC) to maintain this essential test capability in the United States.
