While I dabbled in food and grocery delivery during the pandemic, after I left PwC in early 2022, I started using DoorDash as a main source of income for about a year until I started working my current position at Trader Joe's.

I began the process of working as an associate auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers after my graduation in June 2021. During this time, I was also studying for my CPA license exams. I completed numerous trainings, began work on a few audit preparation processes, and completed an inventory count which included documentation for a client audit. At the end of 2021, I decided it would be best for me to move on and consider other career options.

The official title of the SDSU Ambassadors is "Official Student Representative, Tour Guide, and Orientation Leader of San Diego State University." As a tour guide, I furthered my skills in public speaking and salesmanship by giving 55 minute campus tours to over 1,000 prospective students in total. It was my responsibility to create and update a private group sign-up sheet, keep track of each Ambassador's progress toward completion of their required private tours, and assist Ambassadors who were struggling with scheduling these tours. I answered questions over the phone and via email regarding admissions requirements as well as basically anything else a prospective student might need to know about SDSU. I also met with walk-in prospective students to go over their circumstances concerning admissions. As a marketing intern for SDSU's athletic department, I helped coordinate in-game sponsor promotions for football and men's and women's basketball, I assisted with game production for volleyball, baseball, softball, and lacrosse, and I assisted in planning student spirit initiatives and promotion of athletics to students on campus.

Due to Covid, PwC shortened their usual summer internship experience to a two-week online internship. Here I was able to connect virtually with other interns and staff from the San Diego office and around the country, participate in a variety of informational webinars, and learn more about assurance at PwC from associates and partners around the country. I also completed the Human-Centered Design badge and gained an introductory knowledge of Alteryx, Tableau and UiPath.

During the spring semester of 2020 I started as an audit intern for Lindsay & Brownell. This was my first exposure to actual accounting and audit work and I gained a lot from this experience. In addition to forming great relationships with an extremely helpful and friendly staff, I was able to learn a great deal about audits, reviews, compilations, and prepared financial statements. I also worked on audit tasks such as checking cash and receivables and completing proof and foots. As a crew member, on any given day I would either work behind the concession stand, selling food and drinks, preparing meals, and cleaning the stand and the stock room, work in the box office selling tickets and loyalty programs, or I would clean theaters and restrooms as an usher. Before I was promoted to supervisor, I regularly led our theater in loyalty sales.
