Systems EngineerUnisys 2002 - 2003Reston VirginiaBWUC (Bureau of Workers Unemployment Compensation), was an interface between an Oracle database and an IBM main frame. We used the network interface to the database and MQseries interface to the mainframe. Since I was assigned this project myself I was given the choice of languages to use I chose C# and the use of triggers and stored procedures to access the data in the Oracle database. This system extracted unemployment data from the oracle database and sent it to the IBM mainframe automatically when new or updated data triggered the stored procedures in the Oracle database. This was the first time that I built a system on a server that I didn’t physically see. I programed my first human interface in this project which was a windows interface that had a controlling interface to monitor and control the program. -
Systems EngineerUnisys 2001 - 2002Reston VirginiaThe GATEWAY project is an interface between Unisys 2200 mainframe and an IBM 370 Mainframe. This was and my first introduction of the MQseries interface which was a network protocol to the IBM mainframe. I had to teach myself how to program the MQseries interface. We used C++ and C for this effort at the Pennsylvania State Police Datacenter (Power House). This project was an intermediate bridge until Unisys got the contract for the Pennsylvania LEMS. I did all the interfacing software and testing for the GATEWAY. I also wrote the DR manual for the GATEWAY and wrote and tested the DR scripts which enabled a DR completion to the DR site in Philadelphia. With CDs that I provided a server that would meet the specifications the gateway would be up in 2 hours. I worked on this for 2 years -
Systems EngineerUnisys 1995 - 2001Reston VirginiaThe LEMS project continued into LECS (Law Enforcement Communication Switch). I worked on LECS with the Columbia, S.C., Miami, F.L., and Chula Vista, C.A., Police departments developing these systems. This was working on the some of the first MDT (Mobil Digital Terminals) that allowed the police patrol cars to communicate with the police department building. The Miami system was the first implementation of providing a police department the ability to fill out Police reports from their cruisers and have the reports electrically transmitted to the police department’s computer. I worked on this project for 5 Years. We used C++ and C for this project.
