I run the Merchandising Tech org for Amazon Physical Stores - we own the technology that drives the entire store merchandising experience from corporate to stores i.e. which products to sell in which stores and when and what shelf/fixture/location to place them in, to provide the most optimum customer experience and minimize shrinkage.

In this role, I was responsible for Amazon's corporate tools for knowledge sharing and collaboration which were used by Amazon employees around the world. I used to manage a super talented team of 9 engineers. We owned 7 different web-based intranet products such as Wiki, Video LiveStreaming and Recorded Playback, Gamified Q&A Platform, and Internal Company Search. These tools are used extensively by tens of thousands of Amazonians multiple times a day for their jobs. Most of these products were built ground-up by my team but we also leverage open-source technologies.

Developed a self-service tool that enables developers to easily customize guest-facing e-mail templates.Handled back-end JAVA based service interactions to support functionality of the tool.Worked in a team of 6 engineers. Interfaced with multiple teams to draw requirements and get design and code reviewed.

Designed a new algorithm to locate sequentially separated patterns in very large text files. This work has been published in 'Lecture Notes in Computer Science' journal.(http://www.springerlink.com/content/536784236227121g)Technique Used: Combination of divide and conquer algorithms, Regular Expressions and Greedy and Reluctant Quantifiers

Independently developed two Bioinformatics web-databases.These databases have been published in top international Bioinformatics journals.'Bioinformatics (doi:10.1093/bioinformatics/btl509)' 'Nucleic Acids Research 2006 34 (Database Issue):D25-D28; doi:10.1093/nar/gkj009).
