I am Head of Institutional Engagement at Earth-i, the provider of global, timely and assured imagery and analytics using very high resolution satellite data from space. We generate actionable insights for a range of clients in sectors including financial services, agri-tech, transport, construction, mining, energy and the public sector. As Head of Institutional Engagement, my role is to build and develop relationships and project opportunities with national, European and global institutions seeking timely insights from geospatial information. I have been active in several industrial committees representing the Earth Observation sector. I chaired the board of the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) from 2016 to 2021. I have previously chaired the Earth Observation Committee (EOC) of UKspace, the trade association of the UK's space industry, and the British Association of Remote Sensing Companies (BARSC). I have 12 years of IT sector experience followed by 18 years of satellite Earth Observation sector experience. My key areas of expertise are in the application of Earth Observation to solving real-world challenges; in implementing systems for Earth Observation data processing, management and exploitation; in complex project and programme management and delivery; and in securing R&D funding for developing new and innovative business applications derived from satellite data. My main professional priorities are to exploit the massive potential of Earth Observation satellites to deliver value-added applications and services to a range of customers and end-users in government and industry; and to exploit the potential of modern information technology, artificial intelligence and the digital economy to extract maximum commercial value from multi-source, multi-resolution geospatial data.
