I led the global health, safety, environmental, sustainability and ESG functions for the international Graftech enterprise with operations and activities in the United States, Europe, Mexico, and Brazil. The scope of the role includes: providing expert advice and developing tools and materials that will enable safe operations in all activities, leading and reporting of ESG programs, conducting global compliance audits and assessments, providing technical assistance to locations worldwide, and assessing capital projects, acquisitions and divestitures for EHS concerns. I led the global HSE and Sustainability function of the Special Metals Division, a business unit of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC). The Special Metals division included 14 sites in Europe, Australia and the United States. I was responsible for the operational oversight of ATI Worksite Solutions' On-Site Occupational Medicine , Injury Prevention, Safety & Health Consulting, and Ergonomic Consulting Services. The Worksite Solutions organization has over 300 Occupational Health Care, Safety & Health and Ergonomic Professionals serving more than 100 diverse industrial sites. These professionals protect over 300,000 client employees each day. Industries currently served include: Aerospace and Defense, Automotive, Glass, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Logistics & Distribution, Consumer Products, Food and Industrial/Agricultural Machinery.I also had the EHS leadership responsibility for the entire ATI Holdings enterprise with over 900 clinics, serving 500,000 patients annually and 9,000 employees. This includes employee safety, risk management, fleet safety and safety of the public on ATI premises. I had full responsibility for leading the EHS and Worker's Compensation functions in the North American Region. The scope of this position included 25 manufacturing, R&D, Flight Operations and administrative sites employing about 4,500 personnel. I was a senior member of the Global Safety Team that led the Sustainability and EHS strategic planning and execution for the Global O-I organization. I supervised approximately 50 employees and contractors (EHS, Occ Med, Maintenance, Engineering and Planning) at this location. Lead the execution of the Sustainability program. I was the senior EHS professional for 12 locations with approximately 1,200 employees. I also served as the corporate EHS professional for the entire organization of 24 sites, spanning 4 countries and employing approximately 5,000 employees. From my role with this organization I gained invaluable experience in heavy industry in the entire scope of the EHS profession and significant experience in Human Resources. I was solely responsible for leading the safety and occupational health effort at the silicon metal production facility and all the associated operations such as power generation (hydro and steam), shipping, and rail operations. I also provided back up for the environmental engineer. Prior to the Alloy WV position, I led the H&S function at Elkem's large manganese and chromium producing facility in Marietta Ohio.Elkem is one of Norway's largest industrial companies, and one of the world's leading suppliers of metals and materials. The company's main products are aluminium, energy and silicon as well as specialized products such as ferrosilicon for foundries, microsilica for concrete producers and carbon. During the 10 years I was employed with Elkem the company also participated in the Special Metals industry which included metals for aerospace, electronics and the surgical implant businesses. The North American Division of Elkem was formerly the Union Carbide Ferroalloys business unit.
