About Chethan Tr
Although I graduated as an engineer in instrumentation technology, over the past two decades, I have built my career in developing and implementing climate change mitigation projects. With the evolving market avenues for carbon trading, especially for pro-poor rural sustainable development projects, my experience spans the Kyoto Protocol based Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to voluntary carbon standards projects (VCS and Gold Standard (GS)), REDD+ to carbon footprint analysis. I have been involved in at least 15 projects across India in developing Project Design Documents (PDD), validation of PDD and monitoring of the projects. The technology solutions that I have been involved with developing mitigation projects include improved cook stoves, bio gas and organic waste management. This involved working with grassroots NGOs, training them and implementing various stages and aspects of mitigation projects. In addition, I have also been working with research support on topics such as carbon footprint analysis across sectors, assessing renewable energy potentials, impact assessment of project implementation and value chain analysis in agriculture sector. Not limited to rural developmental projects, I can assist organizations and companies in developing mitigation projects on sustainable energy, carbon mitigation and footprint.
