Investment Banker / Startup Co-Founder / Growth Equity Investor
A Few Different Companies
Coming out of undergrad on the other side of the first Internet crash, I was lucky enough to find myself covering wireless and mobile technologies in 2001 as a research analyst turned M&A banker at a boutique investment bank. I spoke with 2000+ private wireless companies and glimpsed the future of digital information. I then co-founded an information security startup with one of the board members of that bank where we applied predictive data mining to information security - we were right, but 10 years too early. After that, I became a co-founding partner in a growth equity fund doing JV's and spinouts with large companies where technology had changed their economics. I pulled a little bit from each of these previous experiences to start my first company - Playnomics.
