I managed the entire system integration team, including End-to-End Integration and Set Top Box Integration. Over the next few years, this team included becoming the lead integrator for all legacy platforms, supporting a new range of STBs, and handling the integration of the suite of terrestrial decoders. I was fortunate to join the company as they embarked on a new product line. This product required a re-development of multiple components across the business. The system developed involved many Multichoice technologies, brands and companies. In my role as End-to-End System Integration Specialist, I was responsible for integrating these new components. Multiple vendors supplied systems & components that had to be integrated into a coherent solution. I incorporated this solution into numerous value chains of the business. This solution was then deployed across the different satellites to customers across the African continent.This role allowed me to understand the philosophies and technologies employed by Multichoice. The television broadcast sector works on a vast and varied set of technologies quite different from my previous exposure. This challenge proved very rewarding. The key to this role was building working relationships with all our vendors. It was very challenging working with development teams located across three continents, but together we delivered higher quality solutions to the business. A key focus in this role was to optimize operational processes and systems to improve the end-to-end system and hence the overall end-user experience. These products formed the basis of the next-generation flagship product for Multichoice. The radar warner is a major fundamental component in the large system solutions offered by the Electronic Warfare division of SAAB. II worked for SAAB as a system engineer in their Radar Warning System department. In this role, I got to understand their existing technologies and capabilities. I worked closely with the other system engineers, integration specialists, and senior design authorities. I took over the software development of Electronic Surveillance Payload (ESP) Project. ESP was a lightweight Electronic Support Measures (ESM) system designed for operation on Unmanned Air Vehicles. We produced the next generation of both hardware and software. We grew the redesigned modular system into additional product lines, including low-cost systems for maritime patrol, integrated ESM systems aboard submarines, tactical helicopters, and long-range surveillance aircraft.As a software system engineer, I was responsible for all the software development technical aspects and interfacing with local and international clients.
