Senior System Integrator
I was fortunate to join the company as they embarked on a new product line. This product required a re-development of multiple components across the business. The system developed involved many Multichoice technologies, brands and companies. In my role as End-to-End System Integration Specialist, I was responsible for integrating these new components. Multiple vendors supplied systems & components that had to be integrated into a coherent solution. I incorporated this solution into numerous value chains of the business. This solution was then deployed across the different satellites to customers across the African continent.This role allowed me to understand the philosophies and technologies employed by Multichoice. The television broadcast sector works on a vast and varied set of technologies quite different from my previous exposure. This challenge proved very rewarding. The key to this role was building working relationships with all our vendors. It was very challenging working with development teams located across three continents, but together we delivered higher quality solutions to the business. A key focus in this role was to optimize operational processes and systems to improve the end-to-end system and hence the overall end-user experience. These products formed the basis of the next-generation flagship product for Multichoice.
