I am currently working as the Application Manager for the Credit and Rates team on the trading floor. We cover a very wide range of support from high priorities issues such as trades not settling which will cause an incorrect PnL for the traders and these needs to be resolved in a timely manner. The integration between Commerzbank and DKIB had cause a lot of mismatch and confusion between settlements and counterparty codes which then became a frequent issue that we need to look after. Through this integration I had gained a deep understanding of how Commerzbank and DKIB trade and settle and I was able to resolves all of these trades without any settlement issues or penalties. The second most important issues involve around the Sales People, as DKIB and Commerzbank use different Sales Commission methods. Initially there was no one who knew how and what to do to resolve these. Fortunately, using my understanding of the trade settlement knowledge and gathering the right team of staff, I was able to understand and synchronize the eBond (our bond trading platform) database with the eOnboarding system (our mistral/client database) and map to our new Commerzbank Sales person successfully. At the same time we are moving forward to merge these 2 databases into 1 big system to reduce future confusion. My role also involve daily Ad Hoc issues from traders and sales, ranging from incorrect pricing, report generating, excel VBA, database query and user maintenance. We also have to monitor for any trade/system/nagios/marketview alert and take actions accordingly. Our team also looks after all the eBond and Stars++ user maintenance, and I was also involved with the Summit setup/maintenance in the initial migration, and also helped out on the Martini when their team is unavailable. I have also been working on tradeweb regarding clients and sales setup and maintainence. Recently I have also been training and managing the new staffs that had joined our team.

Dresdner Kleinwort.My Role mainly revolved around the stock lending platform (RMW), which includes bug fixing, new functionalities and reports generation. This role relied heavily on Java programming, SQL and Unix scripting. My role also included support which resolves any daily issues from the front to back office. At the same time we had to keep an eye out for any alerts which may cause incorrect PnL, Component errors or settlement issues.

I worked on the Cairo Stock Exchange Project, focusing on Order Management, Trade Processing and Static Data. Initially I acted more of a business analysis role where I had to find out what our clients are looking for and what special requirements they seek, at the same time explaining our technology and what we can offer to further benefit them. After the contracts and Technical Specification has been signed off. We had to set deadlines and miles stones, and organized a team for this specific project. I also had to provide a web demo to show our clients what our product will look like using FrontPage, with several Financial Reports using CrystalReports. A lot of my work was focused on the Order Management Process using Java

I was involved in promoting and advertising. At the same time I was also dealing with Database engineer handling all Client accounts, Invoicing, credits and debits. I also gained client handling skills via discussing, persuading and negotiating with clients in different situations.

I was in charge of product testing and creation of new E-learning course using Flash. I was also involved in some audio and video editing task. By the end of the summer I was asked to present some of my designs, E-learning courses and programs to clients.
