I am a recent University of Florida graduate motivated to impact patient lives with innovative biomedical technologies. Working as a substitute teacher while attending the University of Florida taught me how to handle complexity, manage my time effectively, and handle educational and employment responsibilities. While at the University of Florida, I took classes that gave me a well-rounded engineering curriculum. My experience studying innovative thinking provides me with a comprehensive understanding of utilizing innovative practices to plan, optimize, and efficiently manage projects to implement products or services. Innovative thinking also provides me with background knowledge on executing research and communicating with healthcare professionals and patients to assess the effectiveness of solutions. Due to professional development classes, I am an effective written and oral communicator with individuals and large groups and have experience constructing and presenting detailed information to large groups.Graduating from the UF with a 3.84 GPA demonstrates that I actively learned and employed the biomedical engineering principles taught at the University, such as understanding the mechanistic basis of physiology, growing cells in an invitro environment, designing experiments, and using signal processing to and from living systems. I understand the clinical application of all standard medical imaging modalities and how to apply biotransport fundamentals to the design and interpretation of experiments. Some of my academic highlights include:• I worked with a team of seven individuals and Alafair Biosciences to optimize their manufacturing process when developing their class II medical device, VersaWrap. This project extended eight months and required the team to effectively communicate technical details and rationale for design decisions. As a team, we worked together designing and prototyping designs to meet user needs. At the end of the eight months, the team delivered a device to Alafair. We verified that the device met all user requirements by developing experimentally relevant protocols and collecting statistically appropriate data from those experiments.•.
