Profile bio

About Cheyenne Bennett

I am a Senior at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL) majoring in Public Health and Community Health Education who currently holds a bachelor of science degree in Biology: Biomedical Concentration from UWL as well. Before studying public health, I worked in the healthcare industry as a phlebotomist for 3 years, both in-patient and out-patient in which I learned of my interest to pursue a career in disease prevention. My purpose is to be an educative bridge to the gap for the public most in need by using efforts such as health literacy. I have a passion for helping people and communities, and I have had the opportunity of doing this type of work as a community health intern for my local YMCA to help bring resources that the YMCA has to offer out into the community to increase accessibility while also addressing food insecurity by bringing healthy meals to children of the greater La Crosse area. I serve as a National Member of Eta Sigma Gamma, a health honorary, and even serve as the Service Chair at UWL. My goal is to hopefully go to graduate school to get my MPH with an emphasis in epidemiology.
