My job is to tell my community’s story to current community members and businesses, visiting community members and businesses, the region, the state and beyond. My responsibilities include aiding current businesses in Wall, connecting businesses to the city, researching ways to financially assist current and potential businesses in Wall, working one-on-one with business owners to expand their businesses, meeting with community members and students to assess their wants and needs, meeting with the Governors Office of Economic Development, connecting the community to resources, creating a sustainable environment in Wall for economic development, marketing the community via print, social media and digital channels, creating and implementing events to encourage community collaboration and increased visitation, implementing the WEDC strategic plan and working closely with the Wall-Badlands Area Chamber of Commerce to market the community.

My responsibilities included: creating presentations to educate and inspire the public in relation to National Grasslands, provide impromptu and schedules presentations from 5 minutes long to 45 minutes long, creating graphic reports for the NGVC Director, writing press releases to local and regional media and creating a positive visitor experience.

My responsibilities as an Admissions Ambassador included: welcoming potential students to campus, giving campus tours, organizing and assisting in planning student visits, and promoting Chadron State College to potential students.

I welcomed visitors to the Badlands National Park, kept clear and precise money and entrance pass sale logs, give directions to visitors, handled customer complaints and helped create an overall positive visitor experience.

I created an event in Wall, South Dakota called the "Carnival for Cancer" as part of my senior experience project. It was created as a fund raiser for a woman in the community who battled cancer and for the Hope Lodge in Minneapolis, MN.
