    As a Family Services Coordinatior with the San Diego Eye Bank I reach out to families who have just lost a loved one and let them know of the opportunity to help restore sight by donating their loved one's corneas. Which is a clear contact lens that sits on top of your eye. This is the families personal and private decision. I help give them the information about donation and if they wish to donate, I complete consent paperwork as well as medical and social history questions that make sure the donation is safe for someone else. If I am not speaking to families I am making sure the spreadsheets that we use are up to date as well as emailing my team on any updates about research and procedural changes.
