As a referral and pre-authorization coordinator, I compile and submit patient health information (labs, x-rays, doctor's notes, etc.) to insurance companies for the purpose of authorizing surgical procedures. I am also tasked with managing complex worker's compensation (L&I) authorizations.Regular communication with medical staff is required to solve authorization/coverage issues and to set expectations for patients regarding when they can receive the care they require. This involves translating insurance/billing lingo into concise, easy-to-understand language so medical providers can address issues as needed and provide treatment in a timely manner.In my time as a referral coordinator, I have been involved with expanding the referrals department and assisted in the creation of two additional referral coordinator positions. I have trained three employees and helped create the shared guidebook all referral coordinators reference daily to perform their tasks.

As a night auditor, I was tasked with checking in guests and running nightly audits. Auditing duties included updating the hotel's system to the next business day, balancing accounts and preparing spreadsheets to report revenue to corporate.As the only employee on night shift, I was responsible for anything that needed addressed including resolving guest complaints, minor room maintenance, resolving billing and payment issues, occasional preparation of complimentary breakfast and operating the hotel's airport shuttle van.During my employment with the Hampton Inn, I created the training manual for the Night Audit position and trained more than a dozen new hires.
