I am responsible for training Editors on how to use InDesign Software. I also create pages for each section on a bi-weekly basis, and ensure that branding, photographs, and graphics are consistent throughout the publication. My main goal as layout editor is to highlight featured stories in a way that increases readership and engages students.

As part of the Education Services team at Hyland, I developed review activities and assessments for their self-paced learning materials. Additionally, I created supplemental learning materials for instructors in professional development courses. Lastly, I learned about the software industry and the professional education industry.

In this position, I assisted First Year students with transitioning into college life and getting acquainted with university culture. I developed lesson plans centered around time management and scheduling classes. My favorite part of being a TA was building relationships with the students and acting as their mentor during such an important time in their.

As an editor, I was primarily responsible for managing a team of writers. I regularly communicated deadlines, story ideas, and editing suggestions to my team to improve the overall quality of the publication. Additionally, I created dynamic layouts for stories using InDesign.

After my internship concluded in Summer 2018, I was asked to return to Woolpert in the Spring of 2019 as a Technical Writing Intern for the Transportation team. My responsibilities in this role included developing resumes, editing proposals, writing project descriptions, and interviewing subject matter experts.
