About Chi-Chan Lee

Neuroscientist investigating how the environmental light information is processed by the neural circuits and its impact on physiological functions and behavior. Actively exploring the business side of science through The BALSA Group.I am a Ph.D. candidate in Neuroscience with a long-term interest in understanding how light (sensory) information affects behavior and physiology. I work in the lab of Dr. Daniel Kerschensteiner at Washington University in St. Louis. Currently exploring the function and circuits of the intergeniculate leaflet, a nucleus modulating circadian behavior. My master's study focused on the impact and mechanism of aberrant light-dark information (light exposure at night time) on energy metabolism and gut microbiota. Outside the lab, I have over 2 years of consulting and project managing experience in The BALSA Group, a trainee-led nonprofit life science consulting firm in St. Louis. I am currently the Vice President in charge of maintaining and improving the internal operations. Our mission is to provide exceptional learning experiences to our members and deliver high-quality consulting services to our clients. I have earned skills in project management, processing new topics quickly, systematic analysis, and effective communication to provide data-driven solutions.
