Genome-wide pathway & target identification for disuse muscle atrophy and cancer cachexia• Explored & validated the differentially expressed genes, microRNAs and signaling pathways in muscle atrophy• Identified target genes of NF-κB transcription factors, p50 and Bcl-3, for disuse muscle atrophy using ChIP-seq• Established the requirement of NF-κB transcription factor binding sites for MuRF1 activation• Implemented molecular targeting and pharmaceutical approaches to show the requirement of p65 for mediating catabolic effects in 4 different cytokine-induced myotube atrophy models.
