Growing up, I saw the hospital more times than I could count. It became a second home for me. I thought it was normal for everyone to visit the hospital this much or get sick a lot until I realized I was the only one going through this. Due to these circumstances, I learned to be much more careful, alert, and observant. While spending time at hospitals, I came to appreciate studying about illnesses, reading, and writing stories. I attended Columbia College in 2017, where I decided to write a blog that details various experiences and emotions; thereafter, I published some of my work in the school journal. When I put my mind to something, I get it done. Now, I put that passion to work as a student assistant (peer mentor) for Kwantlen Polytechnic University where I also study health science.
