• Led monthly tours of the university campus for groups of approximately thirty individuals: parents and prospective students.• Was trained in health and safety, safeguarding equality and diversity.

• Studied and implemented new, diverse spectroscopic techniques, such as DOSY and Pure shift NMR, to aid the Jones’ research group elucidate the molecular structure of biodegradable plastics they synthesized.• Characterized over twenty samples and produced a 45-page report assessing the methods used as well as extensive detail on how to use them.• Developed a great sense of awareness concerning the frightening volume of global plastic pollution.• Related my processed data in weekly team meetings and mindfully listened to co-workers’ scientific results in order to better cater the spectroscopic technique to the group’s specific needs. • Delivered a 20-minute presentation before a board of professors to inform them of the new discoveries made. • Acquired extensive technical insight into calibrating delicate scientific apparatus and proficiency in using the concurrent software in a short amount of time (TopSpin 3.2 and Mestrenova).• Mastered the use of a Polymer Laboratories GPC system and gained basic training for working in inert atmospheres/glove box techniques.

• Analysed the inflow and outflow of chemicals on site, use of electricity, surveyed abnormal product losses and kept a record of how efficiently each chemical plant was running. • Constructed graphs to portray notable trends and presented them in weekly team meetings perfecting my Excel proficiency and boosting my confidence. • Used my attentive organisational abilities in checking that all lab equipment was functioning properly and that a vast number of chemicals were always present for daily laboratory work. Received great praise from colleagues, who emphasized that the lab had never looked so neat. • Took notes for specific meetings, fine-tuning my listening skills. • Tested plant emissions for pollutants, rendering me extremely aware of the potentially dangerous impact that a chemical company could have on the environment. • Significantly enhanced my ability to work carefully and rapidly due to the voluminous amount of data I had to input into company software on the daily. • Performed numerous different analysis on samples, such as active acid and iron content gaining know-how in utilizing instruments such as a Titralab. • Researched how to improve the manufacturing process of products, familiarizing myself with the mindset of a global chemical company.
