The main activities carried out and under study are:• development of finite element models able to predict the damage progression in composite laminates, the numerical models are developed through the Abaqus/Explicit code linked to a material constitutive law written in Fortran code;• application of the numerical method to model delamination and transverse matrix cracking in Carbon/Carbon specimens;• experimental tests to support numerical activities;• study of flexible composite joints through numerical models developed with Abaqus/Stardard code;• finite element modeling of compliant structures in order to evaluate their behavior in case of bird impact.

Skyward Experimental Rocketry is an active student association operating inside Politecnico di Milano aiming to design, build and launch experimental rockets.
