Hello! My name is Chiara Mosca, and I am a current sophomore at Hamilton College. I am interested in pursuing a double major in sociology and psychology as a pre-medical student. I am fascinated by the intersection between the social sciences and medicine and how knowledge from these domains shapes, redirects, confines, and expands the healthcare field. I hope to pursue an MD/PhD program in sociology and become an integrative psychiatrist, focused on treating the root cause in patient's physical and mental ailments. I am currently working as a research assistant under Professor Kucinskas and Professor Strong on a project investigating rural responses to climate change in a longitudinal study taking place in New York, New Zealand, and Sweden. I am also an incoming intern at the New York State Psychiatric Institute Columbia Global Epidemiology Group where I will be tasked with conducting field-based interviews and administering clinical tasks.
