Academically I possess an undergraduate degree in Dance, and a Masters degree in Dance science so you would assume that professionally I would seek to obtain a job relative to this topic. Yet, my true passion lies in Education, in particular, children and young people with additional educational needs, and adherence to education.My current job, as an Inclusion officer, offers me the opportunity to work within these interests, providing a bridge between the local authority and schools, in ensuring children and young people are fulfilling their legal obligation to attend education. I am an extremely organised individual and thrive on the opportunity to combine my creativity with my working practice. Previous experience of this is in the creation of methods to record, track and analyse data on the impact of new interventions provided to pupils in my role as Inclusion Manager. I adore working in a capacity that aids and promotes the importance of not only attendance in education but in education itself. I believe Education is imperative not only to academic success but more importantly in providing the basis for social and emotional development in young people. In providing tools in understanding how they act and respond in society and in providing a network in which they can feel confident to grow into their own identity. Outside of work I am a qualified yoga instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance, and it is my intention to further my training in this area in order to explore the impact of yoga and movement as an in-school intervention for kids with ADHD / Additional educational needs, and their adherence to Education.
