About Chiara Ceccobello
There are three things I love: arts, science and people. In my job I use creative thinking to study complex systems with analytical and numerical methods. I am constantly looking out for new ways to do so and I found out that this process is boosted when talking to people working in different fields, adjacent to or very far away from mine. This often leads to long-lasting international collaborations, caring mentorship relations...and friendships too. Let me give you a short summary of what this translates into:1) I have worked in four universities and with people from everywhere around the world. I have been leading international teams towards reaching a scientific goal, but I have also been part of small and large collaborations where I was there to learn and grow professionally under the lead of experts.2) I have been the main developer or co-developer of six codes for astrophysical use (all of them essentially solve complicated differential equations that tell something about the atmospheres of stars or huge streams of matter that are launched by any astrophysical object that is receiving additional material by a donor star or by the environment) written in C/C++, Fortran and Python. If you are curious, two of these are open source (https://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/xanadu/xspec/manual/node153.html, github.com/matteolucchini1/BHJet), all of them are documented in publications listed below. 3) I have co-supervised and mentored 7 students at bachelor, master and PhD level. Together we learned new science, we explored unconventional tools for our field of research and we taught a lot to each other. In my spare time, I communicate astronomy to the general public, particularly to young pupils, with the aim of bringing more science exposure to schools in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas. My wish is to make science and academia a truly inclusive world, where anybody can contribute and everybody is equally supported to achieve their goals. In my *truly* spare time, I like to get active. I love walking, hiking and running. I like to explore my surroundings and discover nature's wonders with my family. When everything is quiet around me, I try to make time to draw and paint while listening to music or audiobooks...and sometimes just watch a movie.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, High Energy Astrophysics, Astrophysical Compact Objects, Radiative Transfer, and 5 others.

Data Scientist
Current
Postdoctoral Researcher
Development of a numerical algorithm in Fortran to seek for solutions to the non-relativistic self-similar magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations describing the formation of jets from a Keplerian accretion disk and its properties through an extensive parameter study.Forthcoming applications of this code will be towards evolved stars and young stellar objects.
Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Project:"First Step towards calibrating black hole jet feedback: a decisive link between inflow and outflow".Part 1: Development of a numerical algorithm (Fortran) to find solutions to the steady-state self-similar relativistic magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations describing the launching, acceleration and collimation of an outflow driven by an accretion disk. Part 2: Development of a subroutine for the calculation of multiple inverse Compton scattering X-ray spectra produced by mildly relativistic jets and reshaping of the full radiative transfer code used to model the multi-wavelength (radio to X-ray) emissions from X-ray binaries (binary systems hosting a stellar-mass black hole accreting from a low-mass donor star) and Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) where the subroutine is used.
Researcher (Part-Time Contract)
Study of the impact of inverse Compton drag on the propagation and acceleration of a jet with extremely high magnetization parameter associated with long Gamma Ray Bursts.
