As an internationalist and a humanitarian, I nurture a great interest for food security (and all things food-related, really!), emergency preparedness & crisis response, the evolution of armed conflict, migration and urbanization, gender equality and how all of those things are linked together. I'm a fierce believer in access to food, education, opportunities for all. Growing up between Europe, the US and Asia, I thrive in a multi-cultural environment where I am able to learn from those around me and where I am challenged outside of my comfort zone. After obtaining an MA in Conflict, Security and Development, and specializing in civil-military relations, I began working at the World Food Programme about 10 years ago, where I have covered different functions (programme, logistics and civil-military coordination), albeit always staying under the banner of emergency preparedness and response and operations. In my spare time, I am part of the Liminal team that looks into projects focused at addressing the de-population and disinvestment challenges that are currently being faced by small towns in Italy, and how these can be faced through a multi-functional approach involving urban planning, architecture and development solutions with the affected stakeholders as part of the solutions. Hobbies include delving into all things sustainable-fashion related, traveling and trying new cuisines!
