M.R. “Chibbi” Orduña is a Mexican-born, Texas-raised poet, actor, editor, publisher, producer, and community organizer. With over 15 years of experience, Chibbi is a multidisciplinary artist and leader, committed to empowering LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. Their work spans across poetry, theater, podcasting, digital and event production, with a focus on authenticity, cultural dialogue, and creating spaces of inclusion.As the founder and Creative Director of Gem.In.Eyes Productions, Chibbi creates platforms that amplify underrepresented voices. They produce and direct podcasts such as Words and Shit and Puro Pinche Podcast, blending culture, politics, and entertainment. As Editor in Chief at Write About Publishing and The Mixtape Lit Mag, Chibbi champions emerging talents and elevates literature that challenges societal norms. A three-time San Antonio Poetry Grand Slam Champion, their performances have garnered millions of views online and received national recognition.Their published works include two collections of poetry, the latest being OTRO/PATRIA, which navigates the tensions between multiple cultural identities. Chibbi was also the co-editor of the anthology Contra: Texas Poets Speak Out (Flowersong Press, 2020), a work that stands as a testament to the power of community activism through art.In their role as Senior Program Manager at Out in Tech, Chibbi executes strategic initiatives and high-impact events, driving growth in membership and volunteer engagement with a strong focus on leadership, creative direction, and interpersonal communication.
